About Jzine

All the stories are true unless labeled "fiction". Names are occasionally changed, if so they are listed at the end of the story. Jzine is updated whenever we have enough new stuff--currently every 1-2 weeks.

Our Contributors

Janine Smith is a writer and the editor of Jzine. She lives in Los Angeles with a two-and-a-half demanding dogs and an Oracle in her garage.

Tom Nevermann is The Moving Doctor ®. In addition to planning and supervising all relocation details for countless thrilled customers, he is also one of the West Coast's best sources for jokes. Not that he's sent me any lately.

Sandy Sallin is an artist who lives in Los Angeles and Sun Valley, Idaho. Next time you go to the Beverly Hills Hotel lounge for tea, be sure to sit under her amazing painting of white roses. And go to Artscene to see an article about Sandy.

Carolyn Lampman is the author of Willow Creek and other fine novels. She lives in Wyoming (even in the winter!).

Bill Fitzhugh's books are so funny, both Cathy and Janine have laughed out loud in public. Fortunately, they're used to public humiliation, so there won't be any lawsuits or anything. Organ Grinders is his latest.

Karen Kaysing-Doty is currently temping in a law office near you while plotting her takeover of the galaxy. The rest of us can only hope she'll be a merciful ruler. But we have our doubts.

John Doty is a lawyer, private investigator, and drug abuse counselor. Oh, and did I mention his martial arts expertise?

Todd Doty is an artist, musician, critic, and student. He also has the coolest hair on the planet, and it's different ever time I see him.

Tim Sandlin is a screenwriter and author of many wonderful novels, the latest being Social Blunders. I am proud to have signed the guestbook in his outhouse.

Janet Buck is a teacher, writer, and runs the award-winning website, "A Poet's Pen." She lives in Oregon, where, I'm told, it occasionally stops raining.

Ray Abruzzi works as an Assistant Editor for a mind-numbing trade publication in NYC. He spends his free time chasing women, playing rugby and avoiding responsibility.

JoAnn Bright is a landscape designer and international kava kava entrepreneur. She is often seen on a trail in the Southern California mountains, being dragged along by a Basset.

Sue Picard lives in Arizona with two Golden Retrievers. Fortunately, she also has a pool.

Barbara Rush is the Old Maid. Not "an," THE Old Maid.

Rick Beneteau is a successful dry-cleaner turned songwriter turned web developer. But then, who isn't?

Thom Keller is a poet, musician, and artist who lives in Northern California. Funny, he captures despair in his poetry so well, we were SURE he had to be from L.A.!

Sarah Bird is the author of funny books and screenplays like Virgin of the Rodeo. Last we heard she was working on a screenplay about the Donner party. We're sure it will be hilarious.  Read about her romance-writing experiences at BookPeople.

Mish Meredith lives in Southeastern Utah in a trailer.  If anyone can pull that off with panache, she can.

Chris Johnson is a musician and philosopher.  Not to mention a trainer extraordinaire of squirrels and blue jays.
