How to Make a Basset Snood

Reversible, washable (we recommend 100% cotton fabric), stylish and functional!

You need:

2 pieces of different fabric, each 10” x 30”

2 pieces of ½” non-roll elastic, 16” and 20”

Thread

1) Fold each piece of fabric in half, right sides together, and sew along short edge

2) Put one piece inside the other, right sides together, lining up seamlines, and sew a seam 1” from one end, leaving 1” open

3) Turn other edge of both pieces of fabric 1”, iron.  Turn fabrics wrong sides together.

4) Sew a seam 1” from closed edge.  On open end, sew a seam 1” from edge.  Topstitch Ό” from edge, leaving 1” open.

5) Thread shorter elastic through end with topstitching.  Thread longer elastic through other end.  Sew elastic ends together securely, overlapping 1”.

6) Move elastic until overlap is under fabric seamlines.  Finish topstitching on shorter end.  Topstitch Ό” from edge on longer end.

7) Topstitch Ό” from fabric seamlines, being sure to go through both elastics, to tack down fabrics and reinforce seams.

8) You’re done!  Smaller end goes toward the nose.
